“Beginning Pastel Painting”

This class is for beginning students who would like to try pastel painting. We will go over the different types of pastel sticks, pencils, and pigments. We will discuss and sample many different types of papers/substrates that are used for pastel painting. After experimenting with this medium, students will begin a painting of their own. Please bring a photo or another piece of artwork that you would like to work on as a pastel painting. Any type of content is okay: people, and faces, landscapes, abstracts etc. A
reference photo is preferred. I will be doing a demonstration as time allows.
Please bring only if you already have:
- Pastels
- Drawing Papers
- Hairspray or Fixative
