Open Show (Previously called Permanent Show)
at West Center
Tuesday, September 1 – Sunday, November 8, 2026
There is no theme and this show is not juried. It is a good place to give a piece a second showing. Submit one entry – the image should be 24″ x 30″ or less. The square footage shall not exceed 720 sq. inches. Please follow the SRAL guidelines for framing and hanging listed below.
Hardware Criteria:
- No sawtooth hangers are allowed.
- Hanging hardware shall consist of stranded or coated wire passed twice through D-rings and twisted at least eight times or the wire attached with a ferrule (compression fitting). Uncoated wire must be wrapped with masking tape.
- If using screw eyes, the screw eyes should not push the frame away from the wall, e.g., it should be mounted on the inside of the stretcher bars.
- Screw eyes or D-rings should both be approximately, 1/3 down from the top of the artwork and the wire having a slight give (no more than 1″ above the screw eyes or D-rings). There are several YouTube videos that demonstrate the appropriate way to mount the D-rings and attach wire. (For example, Easy tutorial: how to install D-rings and picture wire on a frame).
If you have questions about acceptable art or hardware, please contact the chairperson in charge of the event.
